Lorna Jackie Wilson is an author from Detroit, Michigan, with a passion for lyrical poetry, spoken word, and meaningful discussions about the realities of foster care. A veteran of the United States Army, she has spent most of her life in Michigan, except during her military service. Lorna is the proud mother of four beautiful children who support her writing and encourage her to continue. Her journey involves giving back by sharing her experiences in foster care and overcoming challenges. In 2014, Lorna became the founder and owner of Black Butterfly Books LLC. She retired from public education in 2019 and holds master's degrees in business education and information technology. Lorna expresses, "But more importantly, I find myself in awe as I watch God organize my thoughts and convey those things that I could never do alone. My prayer is to inspire someone, in some way, in an area where they need it most."
